quiet of the moonlight,
faint moonbeams on the dark stair,

air stirred and shaken.
PARAGRAPH WRITING
Describe how the poet creates a sense of mystery in the poem.
Ans:
It is night time. The moon is bright in the sky. A lonely traveller comes to a lonely house in the forest. He knocks on the door. There is no reply. He repeats knocking a second time. He asks if there was anyone inside. There is total silence. The horse is champing the grass. No head is seen at the window. The traveller stands still. He is bewildered. Only the phantom ghosts in the house listen to him. The moonlight falls on the door. The stair is dark. The hall is empty. There is no one to respond to the traveller’s call. Thus a sense of mystery surrounds the place.
